Wellington Wines ‘Duke’ Bush Vine Chenin Blanc 2025 Winemaking Grapes, from specially selected Certified Heritage Vineyards planted in 1986, were picked at optimum ripeness. After de-stalking and crushing, the free-run portion was inoculated with a specific yeast strain, and cold fermented at 13°C. Primary fermentation was completed after 2 weeks, and the wine was kept on the fine lees for 2 months to enhance the mouthfeel. Thereafter it was fined, cold-stabilised and filtered prior to bottling. Tasting Notes The 2025 Duke Bush Vine Chenin Blanc shows a pale-straw color with luminous clarity reflecting its freshness. Aromatically it is expressively tropical, featuring guava, white peach, ripe melon, and hints of pineapple, green apple, and passion fruit. On the palate, bright acidity energizes the wine, complemented by a lovely fleshy texture and rounded mouthfeel. The tropical fruit profile carries through, anchored by a polished structure and fresh, fruit-driven character. A gentle minerality adds finesse on the clean, satisfying finish. This wine showcases drinkability and balance from 39-year-old heritage vineyards.
