Valtellina Superiore Riserva Dirupi 2016, organic Nebbiolo from the slopes of the Valtellina mountains. This stunning, mature 2016 Nebbiolo comes from vines over 500 metres above sea level in the Grumello area of the Valtellina. The yield is low from these vines and the juice ferments naturally with 35 days maceration before being racked off. The wine then spends 20 months in large 20 hectolitre barrels before bottling. This is powerful but elegant Nebbiolo, great for winter stews and string cheeses or maybe a hearty plate of Pizzoccheri. Is Vegan?
