Picpoul Marin Mare Nostrum Vini 2023, 100% Picpoul, natural prouction all the way, the most surprising and absolutely delicious example of Picpoul you will ever taste.  Here the vines are old, the yields are low and the exposure to wind helps the organic/biodynamic approach.  The result is a Picpoul with an incredible level of depth and complexity, actually tasting more like an old Burgundy or rich Maccabeu from the Roussillon than a Picpoul in its usual guise.  It has deep, golden notes of stone fruits, baked pear, apricot, with a slight note of honey and oxidative character.  It is all balanced by classic Picpoul acidity which keeps it lovely and fresh.  A wine for high quality seafood or mediterranean dishes with plenty of olive oil, or goats cheese.  Superb wine. Each cuvée from the Mare Nostrum range is named after a wind, blowing where the grapes grow, often in dialect or the local language, serving as a geographic anchor for the wines.  Marin is one of the dominant winds of the Languedoc, blowing from the south.
