Talhas Branco do Tareco 2024

Talhas Branco do Tareco, natural wine, traditional wine making from a centuries old wine making region.  The Tareco cuvee stays three months in amphora before being bottled on dia de sao martinho – St. Martin’s Day, the 11th Nov.  In the region, this is the traditional day for celebrating the bounty of the harvest, where the new wines are first enjoyed in the local community harvest celebrations.  These young Talhas wines are the first to be released are fresh and easy drinking. The white is made of mainly the Antão Vaz, Diagalves e Perrum varieties with a couple of months gentle skin maceration in the amphora. This skin maceration adds texture and weight to the ripe citrus, stone fruit and herbaceous notes of the wine. It also has a saline character and lean bitterness to the finish. Talhas Branco is a complex and fascinating white wine, easy when young and chilled and served on the terrace but the complexity to require more meditation and discussion. Is Vegan?
